As road pastor for Third Day for the last eight years, Nigel James definitely has the experience to share about what life on the road with the band entails. Throughout the book he shares his memories of being with the band through good times and harder times, such as protestors claiming Third Day had "un-Christian haircuts" and were "of the devil". The book balances these insights and stories with devotionals that Nigel has used with the band. These range in topics from ideas about prayer, how we use our God-given gifts and what success is. Although these often have a focus on being in a band, there is still a lot of good content in there to use on your own or with other small groups. For the hardcore Third Day devotee the book is full of anecdotes and stories of life on the road and features some quite honest reflections from each of the band members on how their walk with God, and personal relationships, has been affected by their success. A must-read for fans of Third Day, but I would recommend it to anyone with an interest in music as this offers a useful insight into the US Christian music world.
