Based in New Hampshire, USA, The Mirrors are makers of modern rock. At least that's how things are developing on their latest album 'Brand New Day. Their last album saw the band beginning to change in that direction so half the tracks were old style 70s rock and half had stepped into the new modern rock sound. This newie sees the band more greatly unified though there are still the heavy riffs that make up the more intense end of the spectrum. Just check out "He Is The One", "What You're Here For" or "It's Free" the band are still capable of lighter, more melodic touches on tracks like "Mercy On My Soul" and "Brand New Day". The fabulous thing about independent music in the USA is the fact that bands tend to be more ministry than fame oriented and songs tend to be less about crossover and more about making an impact. Consequently, albums like this one are a gem and worth discovering. If you fancy no nonsense rock'n'roll with its heart fixed on Heaven this is it.
