Seattle-based singer/songwriter Isaac is a man with a good ear for a melody and a deft turn of lyrics. This eight-song mini-album, released in 2014, was his debut and accompanying himself mainly on acoustic guitar on most tracks but with keyboard, bass and drums on others, this is a good introduction to his music. These are gentle songs of doubt, hope, love and questions to be answered but always pointing to God as the answer. Isaac has a pleasant voice, not a huge range, sometimes straining when straying into the upper register, but always clear and easy to listen to. "Rest Easy" is God talking to people who consider themselves unworthy yet God still wants them to come to him. "Down The River" asking God to take him further into truth is an up tempo tune slowing suddenly for the middle eight before rushing on again. Some twanging banjo added to the mix in "Stick To My Guns" provides a foil to the vocal and is a welcome feature. On the whole this is a pleasing collection of songs.
