Atlanta rockers Third Day get cover story in influential Billboard magazine
CCM STALWARTS Third Day are the cover story of influential music trade magazine Billboard. Headed Christian Crossover? and with the subhead Daughtry's Producer, Dave Matthews' Management, An Inside Look At Longtime Rockers On The Verge, the four-page feature highlights the band's new album 'Revelation' (released in the US on 29th July) from which the first single "Call My Name" is currently number two on America's Top Christian Songs Chart. The article also spoke about the band's decision to work with producer Howard Benson, well known for his work with Daughtry, P.O.D. and Flyleaf. Said Benson, who is Jewish, "[The person] who really turned me on to Mac Powell was Chris Daughtry. I think Chris has one of the best voices in rock 'n' roll right now and he kept telling me how great Mac was. He was right. I personally like Christian artists because they believe in something. As a producer, a lot of times what you're trying to do is find something that the artists believe in or something to be confident in. With a Christian artist, you know what that thing is. To me, it takes that part of it away and I don't have to worry about that."
