Did God remove David from his place as king and leader of God's people because of his adultery and murder?
There were consequences to his actions as there are for all of us but surely to have someone who has fallen so far and still been restored by God in the public view gives hope to those who feel they can never come to God because their sins are too great.
Kevin, you bring hope to so many and I am blessed by your honesty and raw brokenness and grateful humility before the God who you can never fall too far from because His everlasting arms are always underneath you. Fab to see you in Chester a few weeks ago keep up the amazing work you are doing God bless : )

Dear Karen,
There is enough Scripture to guide us on how a teacher is qualified and judged and disqualified. There is little on how kings disqualify themselves. I speak carefully lest I someday be tempted and lose my Sunday School class.
Still I hope and pray that Kevin's process is complete. We all need it to be so.
Sincerely,
Deborah Babbit

Dear Kevin ,
Your worship albums have touched me and kept me close to God accross the years and accross the continents while servigng the Lord .
Who is forgiven much , loves much ....Mat God continue to bless you as you bless others, pressed down , shaken together and running over !
I have often pondered the song for Stephanie - I find it quite troubling in my soul - what is it all about - ?

to the guy who questions kevin's right to minister, i really do understand your point. thing is, are you willing to remove the psalms because of what david did in his life, or moses for being a murderer??? the point is, just as with david, he has truely repented, unlike king saul who suffered seperation fron God. remember, Christ said if you look at someone in lust you have commited adultry in your heart. that alone would rule out 99% of male christians!!

Amen Bro!
There is a huge difference between a guy who made a mistake and repented and a guy who made a mistake and expects people to let him stay the same. This guy is repentant but had messed it all so badly he could not undo it.... You got allow a guy to get forgiveness, I mean, didn't YOU have to get forgiveness?

I have been blessed, ministered to, and blown away by God's voice through Kevin's music for many, many years. No other music has the capability to connect my heart to Jesus the way Kevin's does. His newish release "Palaquin," when it came out, went right along with a study of the palaquin in Song Of Songs I was doing at the time. Anyway, I have recently completed a study of divorce & remarriage in God's word, discovering what God really says about it. Simply put, remarriage is God's will only when the other spouse dies or remarries him/herself. I am disappointed that Kevin, or his former wife, could not find the grace & power of God to restore their marriage. I do understand, though, how devestated a heart is after adultery, fornication and/or mistrust of the closest person in your life. I pray & hope Kevin continues to bless the body of Christ, and the lost, through his gift of music. I hope we all make intense accountability, honesty, and transparency a normal part of our lives. Kevin is is truly unique, powerful, and wonderful!

Kevin,
I knew you back when I attended Anaheim and you were on staff at the time. I was heavily involved with the Children' Ministry and actually had a closer relationship with your children. The last time I saw you was around 1993. I moved to Colorado in 1992 to take a position as Children's Pastor and you came and did a concert at our church. Isn't the grace and mercy of God, His unending Love and Forgiveness, and His desire to keep blessing us an amazing thing! I can feel it brother! It just continually blows me away! Hope your kids are doing well.

Editorial is the highest form of commentary. You filtered my previous post which, I believe, would have been the only contrarian voice on this article/issue. Not many should desire to teach... He's still a great guy, still forgiven, still going to heaven, still loved by God. But he should not lead/teach in public ministry. I want my son to be faithful to his wife. I want him to be led by men who set that example by their life. Why is this so hard for some Christians to understand? It's not being mean or judgmental. It's just honest leadership. There are lots of meaningful things that Kevin can do which do not require that he lead/teach men and women who live and set a stronger/better/more beautiful example than he has.

We once had exactly the same view as you. Until we were visited by sin, and our church and family crumbled. While it is still challenging in our humaness to understand, we are now much more merciful to those who fall prey to the schemes.
Is a good example someone of perfection? Or someone willing to humble himself and submit to a rigourous restoration and accountability process?
The measure of a man is not found in his mistakes, but in what he does after he makes them. That's my heart today... not 20 years ago.
By some standards, I suppose when a man fails his family he should then be removed as leader of his home forever. May it never be.
Love. Mercy. Grace. ... Accountability.

Kevin, I love your music from the '90's... and always will. I'm grateful that you accepted accountability from spiritual leaders. I'm very happy to hear that the Lord is restoring you. However, I hope that you will serve the Lord in private and personal avenues and not in public. Your decision to violate your marriage vows has disqualified you from leading men and women who remain faithful to their own. A platform in public should never, ever distort that. Don't allow the opportunity. I hope that you will continue to serve the Lord with passion and faithfulness in ways that never confuse giftedness with faithfulness. I'll always miss your music. I'll always seek leaders who are faithful.

I'd rather have Kevin Prosch as a public spiritual leader then another spiritual leader who is afraid to admit there failures because of folks like you. Gods grace help us both from being judges and may he help us grow in our own sanctification.

The opinions expressed in the Reader Comments are not necessarily those held by Cross Rhythms.
As with the Todd Bentley affair, I wish there were more concern and prayer arising from the body of Christ for the wives who were betrayed than for the disgraced minister involved.
The wives of these public figures were not Celebrities usually. They weren't in the spotlight, so their lives are different, they probably prefer the privacy, whereas those who were thrust into the spotlight wish they could be as anonymous as us on the Internet.
