Comment: In A World Like This is the first album created under an indie label-without the benefit of a major label-they had fulfilled their contract with JIVE and went independant. That gave them the freedom to write and sing about what is important to them. A song inspired by what Kevin's father use to tell him is written for their children(there are 6 Backstreet children) is Show Em What You're Made Of. Madeleine is a folksy ballad written to inspire their fans who are dealing with bullying-it was inspired when they learned that one of their fans had committed suicide after being bullied online. Try is an old school blues song--a critic in a previous review called it Eric Claptonesque as an insult---really? Trust Me is a summer carribean fun song-making "sexy" babies is being sung by a man who just made a beautiful little girl with his wife-it isn't meant to be anything other than a love tribute to his wife. Their pop songs are simply fun to hear and fun to sing. They have a Beach Boy Kokomo like tribute to their fans around the world. This is music that ANYONE can love and sing along to--refreshing in this world where pop music normally=vulgarity. The Backstreet Boys have my permission to keep on for another 20 years!
