Comment:	The legislation would have meant that any church wishing to employ someone not in what the government deemed a 'key position' would not be able to insist that person had to be a Christian effectively. So it would have been an offence to not employ someone who (for example) was a Muslim in a position such as a youth pastor or similar, as it would have been 'discriminatory'. The legislation was attempting to 'bring all equality legislation together' but instead would have removed the right of churches and Christian organisations to make moral / ethos / value / Biblical choices in staff appointments, seeing them as 'unequal.' Unfortunately, the word Equality Bill is a complete misnomer anyway, as it would have introduced discriminatory legislation. The heart of the matter is the push by certain groups not only to have equal rights, but to disallow opposing vocies to be able to hold those views, especially the church who many wrongly consider to be discriminatory. In reality, it's the opposite - the church contributing £billions into the economy each year for free!
