In reply to Jessica TM, Deutoronomy 13 is certainly not saying that God's prophets can be wrong - that they can somehow lead people away from God's truth. What it is saying is, watch out for false prophets, who speak from their own heads. True prophets cannot speak in error. This is absolutely the case in the OT. (In the NT is more difficult, but I would still maintain the same). What we as believers have to do is discern whether the so-called prophet is actually a true prophet, or a false prophet.
