London's Yemi has taken over 10 years to complete her debut album due to a variety of reasons, ill health not being the least. This EP contains six of the songs from that yet-to-be-released album showcasing her songwriting and vocal talents. Yemi's strong gospel vocals weave through a soul and jazz influenced soundscape to produce a rich tapestry of music. The lyrics point to a songwriter who has travelled with God through both the easy and the hard times and always lead the listener to praise. The upbeat title track, "Halleluyah, Praise Him", sets the tone for the EP and is also released as a single. Solid gospel with a soul and jazz feel though few would call Ms Ayeni's music groundbreaking.
