A debut mini-album from this London band produced by Brown Bear Music sidekick Kevan Edwards.  Working within a limited budget they've managed to put together eight tracks in a style that is already beginning to sound a little dated, especially when it comes to the Liam sound-alike vocal on "Wonderful Jesus".  That aside, if you like lots of guitars and a Brit Pop sound that's firmly in the Oasis mould then you'll enjoy Wondercub.  Got to say that personally I do so this one definitely pushes the right buttons for me and it's been playing on the Rimmer stereo for a while.  "Barbie Doll" and "What Are You Doing" are eyes open digs at contemporary culture with smatterings of humour.  The chorus to the former sounds like something from The Beautiful South and that feel continues on the jaunty intro verses of the title song before it bursts into an OTT chorus.  Definitely my favourite.  One huge plus is the frequent use of the J word and the up front nature of the band's lyrics combined with some good tunes and an effective overall feel.  The future definitely is Jesus and the future could be bright for Wondercub but by the time they record a full length project, they really need to update the sound!
