The Women Of Faith worship team consists of vocalists Allison Abbott, Nia Allen, Missi Hale and Corrie Henson ably assisted by a bunch of very talented musicians. What is interesting about this album is that the songs are well known worship songs written by others, rather than it being a collection of original material (or a combination) and the resulting choice of material is an extremely good one, providing a solid foundation from which this CD can flourish. It is so refreshing to have an album that focuses on uptempo praise rather than the current trend to use a disproportionate amount of intimate worship. "I'm Gonna Lift You Up", "Again I Say Rejoice" - two fantastic songs co-written by Israel Houghton - and "Everlasting God" have an energy and vibrancy often lacking on recorded worship and even Tim Hughes' "Beautiful One" has a wonderful acclamatory edge to it. In fact, of the latter, I would say that it is the best version I have heard and that is saying something considering that there are a lot of interpretations of that song around at the moment. There's always a downside and the last two songs are a bit too slushy for my English ears but, given the quality of this album, I can easily forgive that.
