For more than a decade the Women Of Faith movement have been releasing a steady stream of CDs to tie in with North America's largest women's conference. These conferences and recordings aim to encourage and support women in their faith and are obviously proving very successful as album after album is produced. This latest 10-track offering will certainly catch attention with some of the artists featured on it. Golden girl of CCM Amy Grant sings the first and perhaps best song on the album with "Carry You". But there are other good tracks here. African American songstress Nicole C Mullen features next with her huge US CCM hit "Redeemer" while pop sensation Rachael Lampa and veteran inspirational singer Sandi Patty also offer slickly produced cuts. No doubt this CD will appeal to many women though I suspect British believers like me will find the whole thing exudes a gushing, over the top vibe. It's not necessarily the songs, the production, or even the packaging, it's more the overall "just for women" vision that I have a problem with.
