Reviewed by Tom Lennie The Women Of Faith worship group has been in existence for well over a decade now and they've released a string of live and studio recordings. This one was recorded to mark the team's 2009 theme 'Today Is A Grand New Day', which was commemorated with celebrations in cities all across the States. It's a studio set, featuring singers Allison Abott, Nia Allen, Missi Hale and Corrie Henson (all backing musicians, main songwriters, producers, etc, are male, incidentally). Like previous output from the team, it's a highly polished presentation of mainly upbeat praise songs from various sources. These include Paul Baloche, Stuart Townend, Louis Giglio and Ben Fielding/Reuben Morgan. More interesting is the lightly jazz-infused "New Every Morning", written by producer Chance Scoggins, and the thoroughly funky "Hallelujah Praise", though even these tracks struggle to truly inspire me. A well-rehearsed but ultimately unexceptional flow of mainly chirpy pop-praise.
