Track four, the frantically tempoed "I'm Holding On", is fun, a medley-like romp of seemingly every church wrecking cliché they could pack into four blistering minutes and the kind of sanctified mayhem that would have got the Blues Brothers running up the walls. But mostly here it's elaborately fussy arrangements of hackneyed material (sample the lachrymose version of "Great Is Thy Faithfulness"). Another gospel choir stuffed with good voices but also sporting stilted arrangements and a leader who simply doesn't have enough good new songs.
