The third in a series of shorter songs for worship, the Iona Community's John L Bell has put together a collection of 19 tracks sung by members of the Wild Goose Resource Group and former musicians of Iona Abbey. Bell keeps things simple by ensuring the voice and therefore the Scripture-filled words take centre stage with only the odd piano, organ or flute for accompaniment and the end result is remarkably effective. This is largely thanks to a noticeable cultural diversity with songs from Taiwan ("Let All The Nations Praise The Lord"), Guatemala ("Kyrie Eleison") and a handful from South Africa including the title track and the infectious "Never Give Up (Bambalela)" sitting comfortably next to more home grown numbers. The group performances tend to work better than solo offerings like the rather shaky "I Heard The Voice Of Jesus Calling" and an abridged version of "Magnificat" but the inclusion of such tracks only adds to the diversity contained within.
