A greatest hits compilation taken from White Heart's three 90s albums. First impressions in this household varied from "What's this?" to "Typically well put together US rock, but a bit anonymous." It could be one of several American outfits - you know: immaculate production and arrangements, big drum sounds, widdley-widdley guitar breaks and backing vocals you could eat your dinner off. Fans will have the original albums already so this package may appeal to those wanting to investigate the band. The trouble is there is almost nothing in the skimpy insert for a newcomer to White Heart to find out about them, eg, photograph, members' names... This doesn't help the anonymity problem - slapped wrists stingy record company. Despite the above, it must be said this is a grower with mostly good tunes superbly played and adequate non-cliched lyrics. A standout for me was the anthemic "Once And For All". If you like US stadium rock you will LOVE White Heart. Minus one for the insert and the cutting of the "Independence Day" intro.
