One of Wayne's best albums though it's intriguing that producers Greg Nelson and Wayne Watson have put a lot of instrumental emphasis on guitars, both acoustic and electric, rather than Wayne's own elegant piano. But when the guitars are played by that wizard of the fret Dann Huff who's complaining. Songs are in Wayne's usual soft pop style full of hummable hooks while his lyrics are often incisive ("Dancin' happy loose and carefree/Looks like everything's alright/Hey, that's not the way they told me sin would be/But if the end of sin is destruction/My heart should more than ever be moved/But the faithful shake their fingers at the TV screen/Hey, how'd the friends of Jesus ever get so mean.") My favourites are the haunting opener "A Beautiful Place" and the tender ballad "A Season In Your Path". Beautifully crafted and played music, which once would have been too easy listening for my tastes but now I find well worth a listen.
