Wahba is an American singer/songwriter with years of experience. In 2004 he released the 'Proskyneo' album while this 2005 effort came after the songsmith played over 200 gigs ranging from youth college gatherings to adult services. This album of 13 songs is split into two parts. Each part is set to a particular concept which is carefully explained on the packaging but not quite so apparent from the lyrics, which all travel a similar worshipful path. Wahba has a pleasant, listenable voice, whist the arrangements are rather minimalist. There isn't really a song here to grab the attention and to lift this above so much modern pop worship, except perhaps the funky "Saint". The lyrics are invariably repetitive (most of all on "Stay With Me") and unoriginal. It's not bad. Hopefully next time Wahba can find a direction that will stand up to the rigours of CD examination.
