An intriguing new release from the UK's longest running independent Christian label, Plankton. Certainly, Vivienne is continuing to make creative strides forward. Think of the sound of the wind, the sound of the sea lapping on the shore, the rustle of the trees, the notes of the lark ascending, and try and capture them with the rustic voice of wisdom. Not easy, but the Celtic style is blatant. Comparisons with Enya and Moya Brennan may seem contrived but are valid. There is foundational use of atmospheric keyboard sounds with Irish folk penny whistle and the rhythmic bodhran although a normal drum kit is in the background and possibly some programming. Vivienne's voice floats in a clear mystical lullaby through each inspirational song and is helped by plenty of chorus effect or layering at times. Every track is sub-titled with the Scripture verse that inspired it, so this album is more like a collection of personal reflections on Scripture, even though the thoughts have moved well beyond the starting point. The album contains tracks from the previous EP, such as "Holy One" that are not as Celtic as the majority of the album, so lack the meditational appeal. Thankfully the majority of the album has resolved some of the weaknesses of the early recordings to catch a Celtic magic that was previously out of reach. This album is like the Spirit of God hovering over the waters in a creative manner.

I love viv's debut Album 'Veiled in Mystery'. I bought it as
soon as it came out. I really like the Celtic sound, & the
different instruments, played by talented people. Her music
is very relaxing & gives me Hope.
