No doubt you read all about London's brightest new choir in CR52 and let's say up front that their reputation is richly deserved. The logistical problems in holding together a choir, let alone developing one without help of a church or denomination would daunt the most gifted organisational spirit, and Visual Ministry's Junior Spence is to be applauded for not only keeping the Visuals together but getting them some high profile exposure. On the plus side of this 8-song release is a rich blend of voices and one or two nice production touches from Nicky Brown. On the minus side there are simply too many songs of similar tempo and feel so that despite even with its brevity, the album sags somewhat. But on the joyful opener "I Can Go To The Rock" (there's also a remix) or the dead slow and bluesy "Because Of You" with Lurine Cato turning in a fine vocal) the effect is as spirit lifting as any of America's hot choirs.
