Out of the Winans camp comes Vickie, wife of Marvin who has managed to release something of an enigmatic product in conjunction with her son, Mario, aka 'Skeeter' who mans the controls. Although musically there was little to fault with a variety of moods and arrangements that positively suited every song on the album. Vocally however, I found VW to be almost impossible to understand and in some parts extremely irritating due to the amounts of unnecessary emotion that turned her vocals into something bordering on nothing more than just hype. Ok, if it was a live concert one would expect to hear that coming from VW because she can really sing, but not for a studio production where surely the accent has to be on clarity and dare I say it - refinement? Shame really, because overall I felt that this was a project that could have worked to the max if only the vocals were honed into something understandable. Yes, there are some nice touches - particularly on the tracks "Work It Out" and "The Only One" where the tempo keeps VW more in control due to the snappy pop beat that accompanies these two songs. But apart from that, sadly there is nothing else to get too excited about.
