This album was released shortly before the passing of this well loved lady who for many years was known as "The Queen of Gospel Music", at least as far as Southern gospel is concerned. Vestal had a very distinctive and powerful voice and on this collection sings a nice mix of some new and contemporary songs. I particularly enjoyed "God Walks The Dark Hills" and "If God Is Dead". I could have personally done without "God Bless America" though! The album finishes off with a rousing rendition of "Jesus Hold My Hand" produced by Ricky Skaggs in bluegrass style. This is an album that has grown on me every time I have played it and whilst I have never been a great fan of her singing style, I acknowledge that she was a fine artist who blessed many thousands of people with her distinctive music and faith.
