Velocity is an ongoing American music project designed to bring ministry focused independent artists to the mainstream market through touring, promotions and this album. The album brings together a mixture of worship songs - from the likes of Christopher Williams, Ten Avenue North and Among Thorns - and performance songs. While all the songs show a maturity of songwriting and musicianship and a real passion for what they are communicating, it is the performance songs, both rock bands and singer/songwriters, that stand out. Notable are "Breakaway" by Ronnie Freeman and "Tanzania" by Alli Rogers, a well crafted folk song looking forward to life in Heaven after the toil of life on Earth. Rock gets a good look in too with the Vapour's anthem "Dying To Myself" and the full on rock worship of "The Wonderful" by Spur58 . Worth getting hold of in its own right, it also gives some good ideas of which artists to follow up on.
