For years she's been wowing people adding a diva quality to Noel Richards live show. She's sung on piles of album but now it's the time for Vanessa Freeman to step out into the spotlight as a solo artist. All that this oh too short single (two tracks and an instrumental) does is make me ravenous to hear more of the delectable Ms Freeman. Teaming up with programming man Mark Edwards for 'Mind Games', this is the triumph of the liaison of a warm passionate voice and the cool vibe of technology. There's no denying the root's of Vanessa'a sweet voice as she swoons and swoops through the song which oozes with the pain of the trials of heartbreak and relationship manipulation. The delicate understated backing track sits on a glorious groove whilst strings sneak in and out of the mix like recalcitrant lovers and Vanessa lets loose. Her voice is wonderful! 'Whisper To My Baby' is slightly more up, just as groovy and equally delicate with a floating production that gives plenty of room for Vanessa's voice to shine out. This is adult music that is searching for a mainstream deal and judging from the quality of her vocals, she deserves to get snapped up. Only slight let down is that she needs slightly stronger songs so that's its not just the voice that knocks me out.
