Twila has been around for years on the US CCM scene (she had her first album 1980) but her wistfully sweet voice hasn’t been heard much in Christian radio land in recent times. So this album, produced by her long time studio partner Brown Bannister, is something of a comeback. Now before our more cynical readers note the title and write it off as another CCM-star-jumps-on-the-praise-and-worship-bandwagon, I should remind them that Twila has always included worship music in her repertoire and in fact her "We Bow Down" is one of the most popular of all contemporary choruses. There is a re-recording of "We Bow Down" and “We Will Glorify” here, plus 10 newly written worship songs. Twila sings with her usual sweet purity and the musos around her are top class (catch the violin by Stuart Duncan on “You Are God”). Unfortunately, the arrangements are overblown and melodramatic and probably too “American insp” to appeal to us Brits. Shame, because Twila can write excellent worship songs.
