Truth have been gigging and recording for years and have gradually scaled down from a choir to a small vocal group while their sound has moved from MOR to the catchy soul-tinged pop presented here. The first four songs are crisply produced, instantly catchy and displaying a refreshing variety of themes; "Trust", a reminder that whatever personal trauma the individual may undergo, the unseen God is still there; "One", a declaration of the uniqueness of Christianity in the pick and mix world of faiths and cults. The outstanding track, though, is "A Giving Thing", a poignant and powerful message that true love is practical and demands personal sacrifice to a hurting world. Nice start then, shame about the other seven songs, which disappointingly fizzle out into the land called the bland. Pity, really. Still, the nth version of Truth will no doubt attract a US following.
