This is the seventh album from Trin-i-tee 5:7, now down to two members Chanelle Haynes and Angel Taylor. As you might expect from one of the most successful gospel/R&B groups of a generation, this is a sure-fire hit with a plethora of radio-friendly tracks combining inspirational lyrics and soulful tunes. Backed by Michael Knowles' Music World Gospel (home to such famous gospel artists as Vanessa Bell Armstrong) the band is evidently in safe commercial hands but this doesn't feel like an album that's purely about creating smash hits to penetrate the mass market. While the first three tracks with their powerful R&B grooves are well positioned to cross over into non-faith-based airspace, the fourth, the moving ballad "I Worship Your Name", takes things down a pace to more traditional gospel worship roots (expect to see this making its way into one or two Sunday congregations in the near future). Nevertheless, when you've got Surefire Music Group producing half your records, you know you're going to end up with a stack of crowd-pleasing, stomping hits. Fortunately the girls from New Orleans are still grounded in God and intent on spreading the Good News.
