Reports of major stylistic change left me sceptical. How could a band that already had just about the most original sound for a metal band change, and keep their originality? Oh I of little faith. The obvious speed metal influences of the first three albums is practically nonexistent in this release, so are the howls of Mr Ritter. His role has now been replaced by the more versatile Luke Easter. The technicality of the songs is still mind blowing. Check Ted Kirkpatrick showing off his harpsichord and drumming abilities on "K517". There's also a 60s/70s influenced rock 'n' roll song here called "Twilight". The ingredients of heavy guitars and stunning vocal melodies make this a great metal meal.
