Tosé (pronounced TAW-SEH) was born in Nigeria and now lives and worships in Hertfordshire. She has always enjoyed singing and making music, so after 17 years of leading worship in a variety of venues around the world, this five-track solo EP was produced with her husband to showcase her ability. Tosé's powerful voice dips and soars like a swallow across a summer sky as her songs call on listeners to share in her experiences of joy, happiness and sad times in her Christian life. "You Are My God" starts gently with piano before the swelling chorus of ("hallelujah") backing vocals bring a crescendo that is kept under a tight rein to demonstrate the abilities of all the musicians involved. They know how and when to cut loose and when to retain a sense of anticipation that more is still available. "Great Love" features repeated phrases reflecting God's love and power while the reggae-influenced "Cast All My Cares" demonstrates a wider musical palette is available to the band and generally handled well. Outside of that one track there are no great surprises in musical style, this EP will sit comfortably enough alongside the many other gospel worship offerings.
