After a period of crisis when the world wide slump in music sales seemed to stymie the US CCM industry, it is now back to what it knows best and discovering top rate church-based young talent, and putting them with the impressive enclave of Nashville's young and hungry producers to make music which connects with America's Christian radio audience. This debut EP from Tori Harper is very impressive I've little doubt that the 19-year-old will go on to big things. Taking a cue from Psalm 16:11, "Joy", produced by Colby Wedgeworth (Jordan Feliz, Mandisa) is already a US Christian radio hit while the title track, overseen by Grammy winner Seth Mosley (For King & Country, Skillet) and Mike "X" O'Conner (Colton Dixon, Brandon Heath), sounds like it, too, will soon be getting airplay. The production throughout is skilfully executed electro pop, Tori's voice is pure-toned and her lyrics uplifting but never clichéd. Yep, Nashville has another potential CCM star.
