This is Toby's first album in three years and I'm pleased to report that the 54 year old singer and rapper delivers. On the title track the veteran spits out a fierce rap which turns out to be a much needed prayer to open our eyes to the subtleties and nuances of Satan's lies. Equally as good is the current single "Scars" with its memorable lines "The only road to found is lost" and "Passion never counts the cost." "Starts With Me" is one of the singer/rapper's more introspective moments featuring some distorted vocals from Aaron Cole while "See The Light" sounds like a letter from a wise father to a depressed son. "Overflow" has something of a reggae groove while "Edge Of My Seat" is vivacious and rocking. The Digital Journal website have called 'The Elements' "a true work of musical art" which is "raw, authentic and powerful." I wouldn't argue with that.
