This new album for Three Crosses enables the guys to really find their own sound. It is not fair to liken their music to other artists, but to say there are hints of Rolling Stones and the Spin Doctors with a substantial amount of original flavouring would be apt. In fact, one of the Crosses used to be a Spin Doctor and a lot of the guitar is reminiscent of the Docs. Songs such as the opening track "Maybe Tonight" and "I Have Never Seen The Wind" immediately stand out both musically and lyrically; looking at issues of doubt, commitment and the Holy Spirit. They are certainly not afraid to sing honestly of their struggles and growth in their Christian faith, which is extremely encouraging to listen and relate to. For those who saw Three Crosses at Greenbelt this summer, their studio sound is softer than their live raw rock sound, which is not a bad thing in any way as it is a more full, mature sound. This new project is well produced and a great follow up to their earlier albums.
