This DVD of children's songs with accompanying animations is certainly a hit with my four year old daughter. She's not old enough for the karaoke option but she also likes the supplementary CD. The Americanisms such as sidewalk and soda that irritate me don't appear to bother her at all and she loves the simple cartoon animation that accompanies each song. What makes me a little uncomfortable about these songs is the potential use of some of them in teasing people who are different in some way. I think we need to be careful with songs about being crazy, ears hanging low or someone with cross eyes and a long nose. Perhaps I'm being over sensitive but I feel that a little more awareness of this issue in selecting these songs would have been helpful. Readers also need to note that there is nothing particularly Christian about these songs, they are just traditional American children's songs.
