Once in a while it seems an album comes along which defies one musical genre and presents music that demands your attention! This collection of eight songs explores the journey of Swansea-based Steve Lock, aka They Made Monsters, as he battles addiction, receives deliverance and the challenges he has had to face. This is addressed in a highly creative, if slightly confusing manner, with more than a hint of '80s/'90s bands such as Painted Orange, Mad At The World or even Depeche Mode, often with dramatic change of musical pace within a song - "Stir Things" (present here in two versions) is an example! Steve has also mastered the art of the song hook, "Time To Breathe" is the most radio friendly with its call for a day of rest, featuring the tuneful vocals of Sharon O'Brien which work well in contrasting Steve's almost spoken delivery. At times, it feels that maybe too much has been added in the production especially with some the sound effects on "Jungle Love", but in the main this is an highly engaging album.
