First of all take a cheap children's keyboard with a pathetic pre-set rhythm and overlay it with a repetitive brass band riff for 47 seconds and you have your first track. Then let it lead into some slamming rocking guitars and powerful vocals, which could you lead you to the conclusion that if you haven't laid your life down on the altar, you are some kind of pussy. In the States this track was a Christian rock number one in March 2007. Track three continues in the same vein with a bonkers bagpipe intro and "leaving excuses for the weak." The contrasting mature lyrics are accompanied with boisterous exuberance, even humour manifesting itself as burping into the microphone before one of the tracks. These guys from Arkansas must have had such a laugh recording and performing together. The maturity is profound in the lyrics for "Schizophrenia" which recognises that we are our worst enemy without blaming others or the Devil for our situation, but facing it's never too late to come clean. The track "Revelation" proves they know where the volume control is, with a contrasting piano and strings arrangement, whilst "Fireworks" has them taking off the "Happy Song" with a country fiddle solo. "It's Time To Rock" just adds to the eclectic influences, with a bass melody synonymous with Rage Against The Machine. Great fun.
