Punk is not a genre you would generally find coming out of South Africa. The Old Timers may sound like some band of back porch geriatrics but in fact it's a group of ageing punk rockers who on this set hark back to the old skate punk style of the '90s. With loud thrashing guitars and harsh sounding vocals, this album captures all of that. The drums play a consistent rhythm with few fills, the bass can barely can barely be heard, except from when the excessively loud guitars decide they want to palm mute, then the bass helps with the chugging sound of the guitars and the guitars are quite technical when not just chugging out power chords. When it comes to lead riffs, the guitar does a nice job of harmonising what is being played by the bass and rhythm. The vocals are decidedly erratic, going from a hoarse shout to some spoken vocals, as on "This City". The biggest problem with this album is that every track sounds frighteningly similar to the last.
