The official opinion seems to categorise the guys as pop; I would have been happier with new country, but enough of the quibbling, what about the new CD? Mike Marklew reminded us that this band rose from the ashes of the excellent' Brit country outfit The Stormkeepers, and those strong country roots are still in place. Love the deep twangy guitar work of Phil Abram and smart intertwining of Mahalia Jackson's "Jesus Is With Me". Really love the wonderful vocal performance by Townes Van Zandt on "Riding The Range" and Mr Weston Kings' singing ain't half bad either. In short, good guitars, good vocals, good songs, good rhythm section (don't worry lads, I didn't overlook you... you're as tight as a camel's nose in a sandstorm!), and here my over use of the word 'good' runs out... great album. The Good Songs just got even better.
