This is the debut EP from an Essex-based five-piece worship band and state that their whole vision is "to see people connect with Jesus through worship." Clearly they are making an impact with grassroots church-goers as it was through a Kickstarter campaign that they raised the funds to record 'Breakout'. The musicians sound fresh with hearts clearly keen to communicate their devotion. "Get Out Of The Boat" starts with a catchy piano riff. This echoes through the EP demonstrating nuggets of potential that is due to anyone ready to hone their craft. Ready to refine their overall package of what they are sharing with the world. While the specific style of their playing worship brings no surprises it is the production here which lets the recording down. Many of the tracks have tempos slightly out of time, guitar delay effects not in sync and harmonies that don't sit peacefully side by side. Through that, there is a "diamond in the rough" element to it, which leads to imply that The Freedom Band's best work is yet to come.

The songs are excellent having heard them live and it is really cool to have them on a cd! And they really can help you connect through worship!
