This is the independent debut EP from The Fray released back in 2003 while the group were still honing their skills. Whilst the seven songs have plenty of the elements that would make their debut album a worldwide smash, this is still the sound of a band in development. A song like "Vienna" has the plaintive recognisable vocal and the familiar piano playing but somehow fails to ignite. This pattern is repeated throughout. From the opener "Together" (a brisk piece of pop rock) to the closing "Unsaid" (an acoustic guitar ballad), this is an interesting snapshot of a band finding their sound. It's definitely a curio for Fray fans and no doubt the value of this item amongst Record Collector readers is going up all the time.
