'Urgency' is the first studio outing for The Escape, a Midlands-based worship and performance band. They might do a lot of congregational worship material but they certainly know how to write catchy indie-rock songs, how to perform them well and how to combine the two sides at the same time. "The Urgency" looks at how we should have a sense of urgency for the lost and has a quiet keyboard start but quickly builds to a drum and bass driven riff highlighted by the alternatively chugging and screaming guitars. Following this, "Glory to God" is much more of a building ballad and is pulled off well - something many bands struggle to do. "Our Joy" is a romping worship song that will go down well at youth events. The reflective acoustic guitar led verses and power ballad chorus of "How Can I?" close the EP off in style and sum up the whole feel of well written songs, well played and produced. A first class first recording and a band to keep an eye on.

Me & My husband love this EP, although we've got very different tastes in music. All 4 tracks are so good we can't pick a favourite between them. WELL DONE LADS.

This EP is dynamite. It grabs you from the intro of the first track, but give it a few listens and you will discover some depth in song-writing and production. Songs to rock out to, and sing on a Sunday. The sweet voice of Ali Goodhead backed by real punch.
Recommended.
