Did you think you'd heard enough renditions of Hillsong's "Shout to the Lord"? Well there is one more on here and I have to say it's the most original I've yet encountered. Although I wouldn't ascribe such originality to most of this CD it is all very credible and done with immense skill. The Crabb Family are a Southern gospel bunch of siblings who've had huge success Stateside over the last decade and have eventually decided to call it quits to pursue individual ministries. This CD finds them covering many different artists including George Beverly Shea, Andrae Crouch and (as mentioned) Darlene Zschech. To their credit they do bend to the styles of the songs - "Can't Nobody Do Me Like Jesus" sounds like it could have been The Disciples. They've clearly avoided the temptation to make everything sound like Southern gospel and it works well if you like a very polished harmony pop worship sound.
