Originally issued in 1990, this is a much better value album with 16 tracks obviously taken from the many and varied albums that this group have recorded over many years. Many of the tracks are very familiar, ranging from "Amazing Grace", "I'll Fly Away", "Whispering Hope" and the Carter Family classic "Keep On The Sunny Side". There were one or two titles that I was not familiar with; "Tattler's Wagon" and "Keep The Fire Burning". The singing is as ever very pleasant, but over 16 songs the Gang's plaintive country church harmony can sound rather samey. But there's still some fascinating stuff here. I was intrigued that they had recorded "Looking For A City" which has become rather a standard song on many of Bill Gaither's Homecoming albums. Maybe this would be a good place for newer Southern gospel fans to start their Chuck Wagon Gang collection.
