This is the Blamed’s second album. It’s punk/hardcore – a lot of shouting, not much melody. Crashdog are similar in sound – they both come from the JPUSA community. So how’s it sound? Well, very samey actually. Same rhythm, same chord, same speed, same… You get my drift. Yet there’s gold: “…power of God, body, blood, bread and wine you feed me in front of my enemy.../I’ll lose my life to live” from “Beginning In The End”. “Laid To Rest” is a soul in torment whilst “Covered” offers some hope “…you promise hope and I believe you…my Savior” (American spelling). It doesn’t all make easy reading but you get inside the writer’s head and heart. Brian Grey’s the vocalist and wrote most of the words. If half of it’s from experience, suffice to say I couldn’t have lived it. Finally the last track, 3:45mins of music then nothing for six minutes then a final minute and a quarter of noise – what for? I don’t see the point. An album 36 minutes long isn’t good enough. Their heart’s in the right place, but…
