This album is as heavy and abrasive as death metal should be. Mick Jelenic, former guitarist with Christian death metal legends Mortification and the man behind Terraphobia, performs sterling work throughout, covering all instrumental duties as well as vocals. His voice has impressive range, lurching from full death metal growl, to black metal scream, and even to clean vocals on "The Unforgotten", which is also on of the album's only moment of respite from the relentless onslaught of blisteringly fast guitar riffage and frenetic double kick. Standout tracks include "Soldiers Of The New Millennium", "Phase 6" and the anti-war "Hell On Earth". If I could make any criticism it would be that, personally, I found the drums to be a little lacking in punch. The double kick cuts right through the mix but the snare and cymbals get a little lost under the wall of guitars and guttural screams, which makes some of the songs sound a little on the flat side. Also, I felt that the album lacked a little in dynamic range, which would have lifted many of the songs to greater heights had it been more fully considered. These gripes aside though, this is an album well worth checking out.
