This highly polished release from North Carolina-based singer Taranda Greene is a lush affair and no mistake. Recorded largely in Nashville with the city's bountiful musical resources at her disposal, Taranda kicks things off with the tender "Mercy Has Changed Me" to pave the way for an album that passionately communicates God's love set to a musical backdrop that refuses to hold back in terms of inventiveness, scope and sheer class. Arguably this release's standout track, the awe-inspiring "When The Healing Comes" showcases Taranda's simply incredible and almost operatic vocal range and, partly thanks to producers Wayne Haun and Jason Webb and the star's personal experience of loss and grief, has to be heard to be believed. Elsewhere, Taranda effortlessly straddles different styles with the gospel-tinged Andrae Crouch song "Somebody Told Me About Jesus" sitting comfortably next to more reflective numbers like the gentle strings-laden "Uphill Climb" whilst her "Nothing But The Blood Medley" sees the songstress put an upbeat spin on some old hymns. A live rendition of Carol Cymbala's "He's Been Faithful" with the renowned Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir closes a release that contains everything including the kitchen sink not to mention one the best voices of the current age.
