The opening track, "White Page", of this, the second album by a Tennessee-based singer/songwriter, is as catchy a piece of Regina Spektor-flavoured radio-friendly pop you'll hear this year. A track made for blasting out while driving in an open top sports car, "White Page" is a song you'll be hearing on Cross Rhythms radio. Nothing else quite reaches those epic heights though "It Doesn't Feel Like Home" is also decidedly catchy while "How To Be Thankful" starts off a slow ballad but builds up to an epic chorus as Tanya's stunning voice washes over the listener singing, "Our windows dim and dark are coming clean/Suddenly we see/You moving everything/If the hard winds don't die/You're stirring up taking out the bridges our doubt used to cross." Another track which draws you back is "Abraham's Sky" where over an elegant piano line Tanya compares herself to Abraham, Sarah and Isaac as she depicts the struggle between faith and doubt. All in all, this is a highly impressive release from a thought provoking crafter of songs.
