'Brothers' is the hottest, coolest, baddest, best in R&B! The boys do themselves proud again - tight harmonies, impeccable arrangements and a not-too-slick production. Oh, and storming songs! The opening number "Sing A Song", penned by Maurice White (Earth, Wind And Fire), benefits from the lads' own inimitable style: plenty of upbeat, rich vocals resting on a trumpet-peppered funky groove. "Delilah" (which has nothing to do with Tom Jones) personifies temptation as Samson's mistress who lures people into her web of sin. What's amazing is how the boys manage to combine their acapella style of singing with some really swinging R&B while maintaining a smooth flow that never grates on the ears, on "Can't Stop Thinking 'Bout You", the boys really go for it with a pacy vibe, then sing unaccompanied when the music stops! Just like the old days! Other standouts include, well, every track really! The understated, smooth "Jesus Makes Me Happy", has one of those tunes you'll be humming for weeks. If you've never got into Take 6 it's not too late!
