Take 6 are the stunningly brilliant acappella outfit whose devastating technique has caused the secular music press to acclaim them "the world's number one vocal group". They even made it to the cover of CR9. They are on a different planet from the othr Christian acappella singers and I would personally rate only Windham Hill's (Oh, New Age creeping in again. Ed) "The Nylons" as anywhere near the level of expertise displayed by the dazzling Take 6. The lads incorpo­rate wonderful vocal gymnastics, deep-rooted jazz sensibilities, a love of traditional black music and a great deal of sheer good fun into their music. This 39 minute video is, however, the type to bring out the grumpy in me. It's quite a kick in the teeth to see the group launch into the opening bars of a song with almost frightening ability, then to have my listening pleasure snatched away to a basketball game or what­ever or to watch the guys do some staged fooling around or to hear some totally uninteresting facts. Still, there's much to enjoy here. But a Take 6 concert video now wouldn't that be something
