Susan's debut (promoted in the UK when she toured here with Michael Card) was of such exceptional quality that one wondered whether the lovely lady could possibly deliver the creative goods again. But if anything Susan has surpassed 'Wakened By The Wind' with this quite beautifully crafted set. Sound wise it's similar. That same angelic-sweet voice, pop arrangements based with plenty of folk roots and country tinges, the same first division producer in Wayne Kirk-patrick and songs from some of the same writers. "Better Angels Of Our Nature" uses effective storybook images to slot home its point about casting the first stone, "Grand Canyon" is a gentle, spacey meditation on the chasm we sometimes allow between ourselves and God and "Innocence Lost" captures the tragedy of a lost child's eye view of the world. I have this cd by Susan, not a bad follow up to her debut
from last year. The cd opener "Here in my Heart" was played
on ccm radio; I had also seen the video for the song. I luv
"Grand Canyon" and "Better Angels of our Nature";way to go
again Wayne, you nailed it!!Great songs to accent Susan's
vocals. I also like "Hunger and Thirst" written by Phil
Maderia. If you have Susan's first cd, you will want this
one; both were produced by the talented
musician/singer/songwriter Wayne Kirkpatrick. GOD Bless!
