Reviewed by Steve Hayes Sundance unleashes outstanding freshness with a range of guest artists including Propaganda, Wonder Brown, Cas Metah, Elias, KJ-52, JGivens and Khadia Che. What 'Midlife Marauders' delivers here are eight tracks plus a further six featured as instrumentals. The album blazes its own path, mixing up electronic sounds, harmonious melodies, some beasty basslines and a heap of live-sounding drums. "Dig Deeper", featuring Sivion, Shames Worthy and Caps The Elusive, leads the charge, encouraging us to dig deeper to find the real music. "Rapid Fire" and "Survival" bring some choice underground vibes. "Choose Your Weapon" kicks in sounding like a rocky, punky live number before morphing into a reggae-infused break as Elias and Sintax The Terrific make a killing on the lyrics. Almost as good is "Still I Follow" with a slightly old skool feel with good flows from Theory Hazit, Ozay Moore and Sojourn. Sitting in the mix is the instrumental and yet multi-timbral and thought-provoking "Ode To Freights". Closing the project is the instrumental "Begending" which perfectly blends maybe five tracks, any one of which would be an awesome backing track to spit a few verses over. Wow.
